Reduction in minimum fluidization velocity and minimum bubbling velocity in gas-solid fluidized beds due to vibration

چکیده
Vibration of gas-solid fluidized beds is often used to enable fluidization cohesive particles; however, it has also been shown reduce the minimum velocity (Umf). Here, we show via experiments that vibration can both Umf and bubbling (Umb) in Geldart Group B D particles. We observe reduced more than Umb, thereby creating a densely packed, bubble-free state when superficial gas between Umb. Umb decrease with increasing frequency amplitude results for across variety conditions could be plotted along single curve versus strength, i.e. ratio peak acceleration gravitational acceleration. Changes due are not affected significantly by changing particle density, but non-monotonic way diameter.

Acoustic Field Effects on Minimum Fluidization Velocity in a 3d Fluidized Bed
Fluidized beds are used in a variety of process industries because they provide uniform temperature distributions, low pressure drops, and high heat/mass rates. Minimum fluidization velocity is an important factor in understanding the hydrodynamic behavior of fluidized beds, and this characteristic may be modified through high frequency (sound) vibrations. The effects caused by sound wave frequ...
متن کاملCFD-DEM Investigation on van der Waals Force in Gas-Solid Bubbling Fluidized Beds
Effect of interparticle force on the hydrodynamics of gas-solid fluidized beds was investigated using the combined method of computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method (CFD-DEM). The cohesive force between particles was considered to follow the van der Waals equation form. The model was validated by experimental results from literature in terms of bed voidage distribution and Eule...

-The occurrence of heterogeneous flow structures in gas-particle flows seriously affects the gas–solid contacting and transport processes in high-velocity fluidized beds. A computational study, using a discrete particle method based on Molecular Dynamics techniques, has been carried out to explore the mechanisms underlying the cluster and the core/annulus structure formation. Based on energy bu...

Two-interconnected fluidized bed systems are widely used in various processes such as Fisher-Tropsch, hot gas desulfurization, CO2 capture-regeneration with dry sorbent, chemical-looping combustion, sorption enhanced steam methane reforming, chemical-looping hydrogen generation system, and so on. However, most of two-interconnected fluidized beds systems require riser and/or pneumatic transport...
متن کاملEffect of Superficial Gas Velocity on the Solid Temperature Distribution in Gas Fluidized Beds with Heat Production
The hydrodynamics and heat transfer of cylindrical gas-solid fluidized beds for polyolefin production was investigated with the two-fluid model (TFM) based on the kinetic theory of granular flow (KTGF). It was found that the fluidized bed becomes more isothermal with increasing superficial gas velocity. This is mainly due to the increase of solids circulation and improvement in gas solid contac...
